Hello, we are Scott and Lynn. We hope you Enjoy your stay with us in our Back Yard Campground! We started the campground in 2016 after friends of the family pitched their tents down along the creek. They shared their enjoyment with us, and we realized how much we enjoyed knowing they were down there camping. We both have a great appreciation for God's creation and decided to open our gates to you. Lynn is a true Blue Ridge native and we both hope you enjoy the proximity to our towns, the mountains, rivers, streams, and waterfalls. The local apple orchards are also amazing! Hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding and rafting are only a few of the activities available within a short drive. So, soak it all in, come back home to Back Yard Campground, watch the sunset and enjoy sweet dreams.

"Hidden Treasure"

Single girl, trying to get away!

Best little cabin in Penrose. This little cabin has everything you need. From towels, dishes, coffee maker, microwave and small fridge. Decorated nice. Comfort of living. Plenty of blankets. Has been recently remodeled. A new outdoor grill with all the utensils. A covered little sitting area. Has own shower and composting toilet. Directions were right on. Great location between Bevard and Hendersonville. Close to a lot of trails and waterfalls. Pisgah National Forest. The Best host, Scott is always amazing and very helpful. Tent sites a little farther on into campground. But never had a problem with noise or anything. Great place will definitely be returning. Thank you so much. Melinda Valentine (Johnson City, TN)

Great 'backyard camping' site. We needed a place to pop up a tent for a night as we were passing through and this site worked well for us.

"Hidden Treasure"

Brevard NC Tiny House

Super clean well equipped Tiny House. Eco-friendly with composting toilet which I like for quieter living. Lovely garden to sit on bench and walkaround. Covered front porch with propane grill and two relaxing chairs with lots of cushion. We sat outside for meals even when raining. Best of all their property is in the heart of DuPont Waterfalls area. Close to Brevard. Impressive trees and forest. Holmes Educational Forest is on Crap Tree. Plan to return! Just right for one or two people. Too close to the road for young kids. But their campsites and other tiny house would work for kids.

Campsite #1

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Back Yard Campground! The property was quiet and everything was very clean. I appreciated all the amenities and little details such as the picnic table with lights, the shower house with hot shower and sink, and a bench with a pretty view overlooking the creek and horse pasture. I would definitely stay there again next time I visit the DuPont Forest area.
